Hello,

I'm building the 2x5 of the Chosen that came with Eldritch Omens and I wonder about the loadout I should choose. Currently my thoughts are:

- Take 2 plasma pistols and 2 combi weapons on 2 models
- Take double accursed weapons on another
- Take power fist on another
- Keep the champion with boltgun and accursed weapons

This way I'd remove the champion first to save the special weapons and could then remove models as needed in the situation (keep more melee or more shooting).

Any thoughts or hints from people who played them already in the current situation?

Thanks!

I've been running Chosen a fair bit - generally making very aggressive charges to get into melee as quickly as possible, so YMMV with other approaches, but I feel like melee is just where CSM want to be in general.

I keep plasma pistols and combiweapons on different models rather than combining them, so all four can fire - that's a solid mauling to whoever they're aimed at, and if I've got a Master of Execution with the squad that firepower's virtually guaranteed to drop at least one model and bring her target-understrength abilities into play in the melee phase.

I absolutely want the power fist alive to the end, and I feel like the utility of the paired accursed weapon outweighs the benefit of a single accursed weapon having a combiweapon to use in shooting - so I give my power fist and paired accursed Chosen the plasma pistols, and they're the ones that survive while all the others drop. I've had many battles where the Chosen, being the firepower magnets they are, have been reduced to just those two plus their Lord (and MoE if present), and that's still a damn heavy hitter of a unit in melee. The combiweapons' anti-infantry plus dev wounds is a tasty combo, but I just don't think their single accursed weapons stack up in melee when it's turn three or four and we need to be leaving no survivors no matter how tough the target unit is.

So what I've ended up with - in order of who dies first - is:

1x Chosen with boltgun & bolt pistol & accursed weapon & big 'shoot me' sign
2x Chosen with combiweapon & bolt pistol & accursed weapon
1x Chosen with plasma pistol & paired accursed weapon
1x Chosen with plasma pistol & boltgun & power fist & Chaos Icon

Thanks for the explanation, that sounds like a better loadout for me since I intend to use them as sort of shock troops.

As a general rule you want as many power fists and paired accursed weapons as possible. Chosen are a close combat unit. Their shooting is pretty average so you want to make them as good in combat as possible.
