My friend and I made a small trade and I got a five unit group of genestealers. I'm curious which army they're best used for, either their own GSC army or should I look into collecting tyranids for them instead?

My opinion is that they'll work just fine in either force.

But Tyranids & GSC play alot differently than each other.
So you'll want to read thier rules/units/etc & see wich will suit you.
Also check out the model ranges. Could be that one of them inspires you more than the other. In wich case, go with that one.
