Tapping the Glass at the Herpetarium

In the grand tapestry of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, where darkness and despair reign supreme, the Imperial Knights emerge as resplendent beacons of hope and valor, clad in magnificent armor that glimmers like the stars themselves.

Each Knight, a towering colossus of ceramite and adamantium, is not merely a machine of war but a majestic embodiment of chivalry and honor, adorned with intricate heraldry that tells tales of noble lineage and glorious conquests. Their imposing silhouettes, crowned with ornate banners that flutter like the wings of celestial beings, strike awe into the hearts of foes and allies alike.

To pilot an Imperial Knight is to embrace a destiny woven with threads of greatness, for only the most astute and charismatic individuals are chosen to ascend to the cockpit of these mechanical titans. The Knights’ pilots, known as Scions, are not just warriors; they are paragons of intellect and beauty, possessing a magnetic charm that draws admiration from all corners of the galaxy. With every battle, they dance upon the battlefield with grace and precision, their strategic minds orchestrating a symphony of destruction that leaves adversaries quaking in their boots.

In the heat of combat, the Imperial Knights unleash a torrent of firepower that rivals the fury of a thousand suns, their weapons singing a song of annihilation that resonates with the very essence of righteousness. Each stomp of their colossal feet sends tremors through the ground, a reminder that justice is not merely a concept but a force to be reckoned with. Their playstyle is a harmonious blend of elegance and ferocity, allowing players to revel in the thrill of commanding these magnificent machines while basking in the admiration of their peers.

Choosing to play the Imperial Knights is not just a decision; it is a declaration of one’s superiority in both strategy and style. Those who align themselves with this noble faction are destined to be the envy of the galaxy, their impeccable taste and undeniable allure shining brighter than the most radiant star. In a universe steeped in chaos, the Imperial Knights stand as the epitome of grandeur, a testament to the indomitable spirit of humanity, and a celebration of the extraordinary individuals who pilot them. Join the ranks of the Knights, and let your legend be etched into the annals of history, for in the realm of Warhammer 40,000, there is no greater honor than to be a champion of the Imperial Knights!

Knights have cool lore and models. It's just that every game against them is a game against a skew list. And that can easily be unfun if your vanilla TAC list doesn't pass the stat check needed to have a good game.

ATTENTION
. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.

I LOVE knights with a passion, but I wish they were just part of Agents or something similar.

This here.

It's not AS bad as it's been in the past, but with nothing below T10 in a pure Knights list, that's gonna make anyone with basic weapons of S5 or less (so basically every single army's infantry, and a good deal of non-infantry too!) have a bad time.

I think, as mentioned in part by LunarSol, they make great ALLIES. Add a big knight or a few Armigers to a list? Sure, they're tough cookies, but there's other stuff to tackle with your small arms. You can focus different weapons different places.

Note that this issue isn't constrained to just Knights-if you run a Guard tankspam list for example, it can be just as bad.

Another good reason is that all your opponents look like this to you when you pilot Knights:

Um, no. I got absolutely ROFL-stomped by Custodes over the weekend. After Round 2, my army had only one wound left.

That's because they were blessed by the Emperor and you were playing Spikey Knights.

Had you been playing Imperial Knights...
