Subject: 40k Diorama: "We're All In This Together!"
I got this idea for this project a while ago when I noticed that some painting competitions have a 'duel' category. The requirements are usually to show two models engaged in 'a fight or other dramatic moment'. Clearly the intention is to depict a Wolf Lord decapitating a carnifex or whatever, but it's not like I was going to submit it for a real competition so I got a different idea.
My diorama depicts a valiant shield-captain of the Adeptus Custodes, clad in Allarus terminator armour, directing a humble Astra Militarum conscript. The light reflects from the custodian's glistening form as he directs the guardsman towards the front where the fighting is thickest, firm in the knowledge that this man will give his all in the name of the Emperor. The scrawny youngster looks upon him, the expression on his face an unmistakable blend of dutifulness and reverence. The only regret in the shield-captain's noble heart is that he cannot personally join the fray, for his extensive tactical genius is required here.
I give you: "We're All In This Together!".
