Does anyone know of a solid explanation of the Pack Tactics rule for Chaos Knights crusades? I’m confused by the wording in the codex about how to get the trait or choose the pack. Can a wardog take a pack tactic as trait and have it on its own? Do wardogs in a pack have to already have the tactics as a battle trait to form the hunting packs? Are taking the tactics as a battle trait and forming a hunting pack two completely separate things? Anyone have any idea on this? Thanks.

If your War Dog Domination level is high enough when a War Dog gains a level, it can take a Hunt Tactic as a Battle Honor (instead of a regular Battle Trait or Weapon Enhancement).

These Hunt Tactics don't actually operate independently. At the start of the game, you can form your War Dogs into packs. Packs need to have 2 models (2-3 at max Domination).

Once you have formed your packs, each pack selects ONE Hunt Tactic from among the members of that pack. As long as a War Dog is 12" of a member of its pack, it has that Hunt Tactic.

So, for example, if you form a Karnivore and a Huntsman into pack, and only the Karnivore has a Hunt Tactic, you would select that Tactic and BOTH models would benefit from it while they're within 12" of each other. If both models have a tactic, you would choose ONE - that tactic would be active for both models while they're within 12" of each other, and the one not selected would have no effect.

A single War Dog can't use its Hunt Tactic on its own - it has to be part of a pack.

Ok, that’s kinda what I thought from reading but it just doesn’t seem clear. Thank you
