I constantly see people talk about buying models at reduced rates, but I must be doing something wrong, because the best deals I can find hover around 10% off, which is quickly obliterated by Florida sales tax (6.5%).

Any advice you can give would be appreciated.

Different countries have different rules/laws regarding discounts. GW is UK based and thus practically give the stuff away to their favorite children. North America can get a hint of discount but not nearly what the UK is capable of. NZ and Australia are neglected and abused and GW seemingly try to do everything within their power, short of not selling there, to persuade them not to buy.

Everything past the first sentence may be an exaggeration.

FWIW, a discount offset by taxes is still cheaper than MSRP after taxes.

Noble has a huge amount of used stuff, but new prices are usually around 10% off.
MM usually is around the 15% off mark.
Both have ebay stores.

Speaking of eBay...
users cataclysmcollectables and flipsidegaming often have gw for 15% off with free shipping.

Cataclysm Games is actually my closest FLGS.
Their selection and prices keep me going there for the most part, even with the in-store Illinois sales tax of 10.5%
