So I am greatly disappointed in the Space Wolves supplement when compared to older pre 6th edition codexs. They went from a stand-a-lone army with their own unique flavor, units, and power levels, to having to rely on marine units with little synergies due to some bad word choices. So in my attempt to run mostly Space Wolf faction units, one thing that stood out to me was the idea of a Space Wolf Dread Mob style list. So here is what I came up with.


DETACHMENT: Ironstorm Spearhead

Char1: 1x Arjac Rockfist (95 pts): Warlord, Foehammer

Char2: 1x Bjorn the Fell-Handed (170 pts): Heavy Flamer, Trueclaw, Helfrost cannon

Char3: 1x Murderfang (160 pts): Heavy Flamer, Murderclaws, Storm bolter

Char4: 1x Iron Priest (90 pts): Helfrost pistol, Tempest hammer and Servo-arm
Enhancement: Target Augury Web (+30 pts)

Char5: 1x Iron Priest (60 pts): Helfrost pistol, Tempest hammer and Servo-arm

I wish one of the Space Wolf Detachments synergized better with this list more than the Ironstorm Spearhead, but I do want to be competitive.

The idea is that the three Iron Priests hang out with each of the ven dreads. Repairing them as needed and giving the Helfrost cannons rapid fire. The termies and Murderfang go into the Stormraven (wish we could still take stormclaw transports) and get deposited into the enemy backfield and then do what they do best. Bjorn gives extra CPs to help fuel the Ironstorm stratagems that are going to be heavily used.
