Subject: How Would You Model Blood Ravens Carrying a Bunch of Stolen Stuff?
Nevelon wrote: Look into other chapter upgrade sprues? Use bolters that have DA emblems on them, give the sarge a BT sword. That kind of thing.
Put ammo crates or boxes on bases with different chapter colors/icons on them.
Big sack with bits coming out the top.
How would you model the sack?
First, I’d ask advice from people with more then my meager kitbashing skills.
Some initial thoughts:
One, roll out some Green Stuff into a square, wrap it around a filer ball (wadded up tinfoil or something) and try to make it look good. Maybe use some string as a tie.
Cut a small square of actual fabric. Form it around filler. Soak in glue for structure.
Google how historical modeler make tarps amd such for WW2 dioramas. iIRC it involves soaking paper towels or tissues in PVA.
Question - would marines really carry their own loot? Might not they have servitors and guardsmen to do the grunt work of pushing trollies of the things they've looted.

Yes, lots. Google for 28mm scale gold piles or similar.
Thanks. I think I found some.
I do like the idea of mag locked relics recovered applied liberally to their armor.
I was even looking at the RavenGuard Combat Patrol, and paint the Invictus War Suit in the standard Ravenguard black, but put a Blood Ravens pilot in the cockpit.

You don't need to go overboard trying to show your dudes are thei... Blood Ravens. The Chapter badge will do that well enough, but if you had say - a Rhino with the top popped and a bunch of loot stuffed in there - that would sell it! You might not be allowed to use it in KT but I can't see anyone saying you can't use it as terrain. Then your small details, like found bolters and reassigned power weapons, will seal the theme perfectly.

I say go full ridiculous. Get some of them modelled doing that cartoonish creeping along, you know, the other the arms out at the side and the knees going all the way up and them in tip toes
And one needs to be talking about hunting a wascally wabbit.
Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Yeah, I'd personally go with this approach. Make that Rhino your HQ (this used to be a rules thing in KT21 Narrative Play)
You can use it as terrain in your deployment zone (assuming your opponent is OK with treating it as a building)
I personally intend to build a HQ of some sort for every one of my "major" Kill Teams. The Corsairs get a dinky Arvus Lighter, Navy breachers & Inquisition get a Valkyrie, AoD/Legionaires get either a Rhino or a Land Raider Proteus, and so on..

"The larger point though, is that as players, we have more control over what the game looks and feels like than most of us are willing to use in order to solve our own problems"
