Good terrain kit, can see it being broadly useful for fantasy skirmish games too if it's possible to leave the minis off.

Maybe it's because gallows are a historical reality, but even in a miniature world steeped in "grimdark," good grief that is a grim subject.

That's not a complaint, exactly. Generally speaking, more terrain - especially non-military terrain - is a good thing. I'm just kind of bewildered by my own response to this and trying to figure it out.

One can argue that we already have torture chamber sets for Middle Ages minis, which is true. But some of the most gruesome stuff that's meant to represent that era is actually fictional, like iron maidens. On the other hand, there are also plenty of miniature representations of guillotines and electric chairs, both of which are quite real.

Wargaming is on some level always about violent death, even if that violence is abstracted and confined to rolling dice, but there's a difference between fighting and dying in combat and executing prisoners. Maybe that's what's making my brain itch.

Anyway, that's just me; my apologies for rambling out loud. The kit itself looks well-made, and will certainly offer opportunities for role-playing drama, heroic rescues, etc.. I agree that it should fit in with fantasy settings as well it does Wild Western ones.

Hope those ropes aren't too fragile!

I have yet to paint the shop signs on my existing DMH buildings, but this is certainly something to get!

Looks interestering but I I'll never need more than one gallows. Perhaps it can also be used as something else? A wooden dock maybe?

I just received my set and it looks great. I'll assemble and paint it over the weekend.

What I am really waiting for are the plastic Indians and Mexicans.

They would make the best additions to a great game.

Been mentioned in the Facebook group this week that the next plastic release is dismounted US Cavalry for Nov/Dec with mounted versions in the New Year. After that it's renegade Apache dismounted/mounted and I think they have plans for another building next year too. I'm sure Mexican Bandits will be on their wish list too and it's certainly something I would like to see.

Hoping to get some time to build the Gallows set this weekend, it's such a cool looking piece.

This is a great range, hope to see it grow.
