Hi everyone,
I’m Yann, 48, and I’ve been into miniature painting and role-playing games since I was a kid. Over the past year I ran into a simple problem: keeping track of paints across different brands and finding close color matches when working from reference photos.
I started building a little utility just for myself. It kept growing. I ended up collecting paints from four big ranges (AK, Vallejo, Army Painter, Citadel) and, one by one, I manually checked their HEX values to get a consistent dataset. That turned into a small database of colors and—eventually—a website interface to make it easier to search, compare, and plan recipes.
I’m not here to push sign-ups or anything like that. I’d just love to hear from fellow painters:
does the idea sound genuinely useful for your workflow?
what would you expect from a color-match or paint-management tool?
any “don’t do this” advice from your own experience?
If anyone is curious, I can share a full-access test account via
PM and would really appreciate honest feedback. Thanks for reading, and happy painting!
