I joined in 2000, when DakkaDakka was just an FLGS in Nashua, New Hampshire. I don't remember how I stumbled upon it, but there were only about 40-ish members at the time. Heck, some of our current members weren't even born yet! Oh, man, that sucks. lol

On a whim, I looked up the old site on Wayback Machine and, man, what a nostalgia kick! There were so many names that flooded back. Justicar, The Phantom Lord, Task, VLAD THE ROTTEN, RogueSangre, Clouseau, Barpharanges, Snord, Migsula, JoJo Monkey Boy, and so many more. Legends in modeling, painting, sculpting, and scenery.

I went by TheChaptermaster back then. I switched to this name after the new Dakka was born. Unfortunately, the Wayback Machine has only archived the forum homepage, and none of the actual post's content. I have a ton of pictures of people's models from back then, but it would be lovely to actually read those post again.

This is a screenshot of the furthest reaching forum post that the Wayback Machine has archived. There are snapshot entries from 1999 and 2000, but the actual archiving doesn't start until March of 2001. Link to the OG DakkaDakka website following the image, if you want to see this forum's history. It's pretty wild to think that many of you have never seen internet like this... lol

Although I've never joined the Dakka forums before yesterday, I've been reading them for quite some time (surely since 2004-2006, around that time). I might have even made an account with my old email, not sure anymore and I don't have access to those.

But I've been a member in other forums for that amount of time (the older one since 2001, around the same time I started playing Warhammer 40k) so I know the feeling.

Don't feel bad, I know that getting old does sucks sometimes (every return my bones come to remind me), but keep in mind all the things we've seen/been through/witnessed and either because or despite those things, we're still here

And Davien felt a kick inside her, as though some organ she never knew she’d possessed was suddenly pumping. She looked into their faces, her own little congregation, and they were connected to her, souls speaking to her soul. My family, she knew. Blood of the angels.

Don't worry, I've posted enough in the last year for everybody... except MDG. Nobody can outpost that guy.

I had no idea that Dakka Dakka was an LGS, and I've been a member of these forums for a good long time myself!

I am posting right now to see my join date. I was a lurker for a long time, and preferred to spend my time on Warseer as my primary site. When that died a death, I migrated here on a digital life raft.
