In Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar we’re used to hearing about single solitary heroes carving through vast hordes of enemies. We’ve all wanted to be the furious centre of that storm of combat, and it looks like we won’t need to wait longer. Soon you’ll be able to take up a boltgun or blade and face down a seemingly endless tide of enemies because we’ve partnered with Auroch Digital, makers of the retro shooter Boltgun, alongside poncle, the developers of cult hit rogue-like game Vampire Survivors, to create the upcoming Warhammer Survivors!
This brand new and completely standalone survivors-style game combines the genre’s moreish and exciting gameplay with the grim, dark settings of both Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar.
You’ll pick your character and face off against swarms of relentless foes, earning experience in order to gain new weapons and power-ups that help you become a screen-clearing, death-dealing avatar of fury. Every run will let you experiment with new strategies as you unlock new characters, upgrades, weapon combinations, and an absolutely huge stack of secrets.
Malum Caedo from Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun is here to tackle the ravenous Tyranid swarms, alongside Cadian Shock Trooper Kozlowski and Brother Luca, a Space Marine Intercessor.
Seething hordes of Skaven are going to be sent skittering to their gnawholes by heroes like Neave Blacktalon, the unstoppable Gotrek Gurnisson, and Sharynn Azurwrath, a Stormcast Eternals Vanquisher armed with a celestial greatsword.
That’s just a fraction of the roster you can look forward to meeting as you hack, slash, and shoot your way through teeming hordes using familiar weapons like boltguns, Astartes chainswords, whirlwind axes, and… wait, was that a pot of Nuln Oil we saw?
By playing, you’ll also unlock more passives and power-ups that will aid you against the seemingly never-ending legions, whilst discovering well-hidden secrets, tons of easter eggs, all sorts of collectables, and much, much more.
Warhammer Survivors will launch on Steam in 2026 – you can even Wishlist it now! We’ll have plenty more news to announce as we get closer to release.
Pretty stoked for this one, Vampire Survivors is one of those games that just hit the right spot for me.
