Our gaming group are toying with the idea of playing some naval warfare in Warhammer Fantasy, as part of a broader campaign. We've got some homebrew ideas for rules, but wondered whether the Dakka hivemind might offer some ideas for models.

To start with, we're looking for larger versions of the Empire range of ships from the old Man-o-War game – Wolfships, Greatships, galleys etc. – or models that are similarly stylised.

Scale-wise, we'd like something larger than the old game. We're looking at something more akin to Adeptus Titanicus, so 3–5 models per side, and around 3–5 inches in length.

We're range- and material-agnostic, so whether it's commercially-available or not, and metals, resins, 3d prints, plastics or whatever, I'd love to hear your ideas and suggestions.

So if you don't want to just play Man O War (one of GW's most brilliant games), modding warlord games system that Mantic has borrowed (or modding the modded Mantic version) would be easiest. https://www.manticgames.com/what-is-armada/

Armada now has SLs for everything now, or you can scale up Man o war stuff.

I've seen STLs for Man O War but can't remember where, they are out there though.

There was also Spartan Game's Uncharted Seas, OOP but models aren't hard to find or too expensive on ebay.

More or less the entire Man-o-war range has been resculpted for printing.

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

Yeah, you really want to look at Historical rules first, and then mod them appropriately.

Some ideas:
-Black Sails
-Wooden Ships and Iron Men
-Trafalgar (Also GW)
-Armada
-Heart of Oak
-Oak and Iron
-Sails of Glory
-Fighting Sail

Honestly, Fighting Sail is pretty cheap and accessible. Sails of Glory is a 1 or two ship game based a bit on X-wing mechanics. Others of these you can find online for free,

Here is my review of Fighting Sail:

Feel free to PM me is you need more help on Man-O-War, Trafalgar, Fighting Sail, etc.

Wonder if it’s possible to Letter Campaign type thing GW to extend the MTO to classic games and their models.

Because I’d take your hand, and your Granny’s hand, off for such a Man O’War MTO.

Absolutely love that game, and whilst not exactly facing top notch opponents? My own personal Admiralcy remains undefeated.

Fed up of Scalpers? But still want your Exclusives? Why not join us?
