So this was announced on Steam yesterday - https://store.steampowered.com/app/3856030/Bolt_Action

Title: Bolt Action
Genre: Strategy
Developer: FRAG Games
Publisher: Slitherine Ltd.
Release Date: To be announced

The Battlefield Comes Alive
Bolt Action adapts the award-winning Warlord Games tabletop ruleset into a stunning, demanding digital theatre of war, where the difference between victory and rout is a single, calculated decision.

WWII Tactical Combat
Players wage war from the beaches of Normandy to the brutal, fortified hedgerows of Northern France. Forces are always in motion, but total domination hinges on an attentive tactical mindset.

Units and Customization
Forged straight from the tabletop, every army marches into battle with its own unmistakable design. From elite squads to war machines, players can shape their forces using the Army Painter to personalize their forces’ look and feel while staying true to their faction’s battle spirit.

From Tabletop to Digital
Core mechanics like Morale, Line of Sight, and Pinning deliver a faithful yet expanded digital experience that captures the intensity and unpredictability of the battlefield. Every order, maneuver, and engagement tests tactical skill and careful planning.

Main Features
WWII setting - Command troops from the beaches of Normandy to the fortified towns and hedgerows beyond.
Tabletop tactical systems reimagined for PC - Order Points, Morale, Cover, and Line of Sight drive every engagement.
Uniquely designed units - Lead U.S., British, or German forces with distinctive unit design.
Army painter - Customize squads, weapons, and vehicles for a personal touch.
Dynamic single-player campaign - Progress through connected missions with evolving objectives.
Replayable skirmish battles - Randomized initiative and varied conditions keep skirmishes fresh.
Multiplayer - Test tactical skill in competitive online battles and ranked matches.

When I started reading I was like, ooh, let's see if they have some of the cool TT factions you don't see every day, like Finnland.

Turns out they don't even have Soviet Union or Japan, so probably DLC galore incoming...

This is likely of interest to me, if it turns out well. Turn based tactics makes this an old people game, and me the target audience.

Even if they charge £30 for each faction it'll be a fraction of the cost of playing them on tabletop

To me it looks like a turn based company of heroes mod. I hope it will turn out to be a good game, although I am a bit cynical about the state of today's gaming industry to put it lightly.
Time will tell.

A hemophobic Khorne berzerker, a germophobic plague marine and a sexy Skaven walk in to a Games workshop.....

Very interesting. The turn-based UI looks s little clunky, but I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt...
