I'm talking about units that go well together.
For example, 3atvs in ironstorm and/or with vulkan hestan.
Or judiciar with 10 assault intercessors and ancient weapons in Wrath of the rock. (I dunno, has anyone tried it? It's cheap and tough, seems like a good objective holder.)
The package I'm building around just now is in the white scars detachment, 10 hellblasters and a lieutenant with the ignore-cover-and-sustained-hits enhancement in a stormraven. (580 points)
They rush in and destroy something important early or medium-early in the game.
Then they present a no-win scenario between the following factors:
*I have cheap scoring units on the objectives, including the lone op lieutenant. If they don't come out, I score pretty big.
*If they come out, I have heavy firepower in my backfield just waiting to pop out.
*If they come anywhere close I can reactive-move the hellblasters into the stormraven.
*Against shooting, hellblasters shoot on death and the stormraven has that -1 to hit and wound strat.
*Against melee, the hellblasters get in the stormraven and -1 damage and T10 is a bear to deal with unless you're a primarch.
Generally one of the two units at least survives the turn.

3 Las Fusil Eliminators with a Phobos Librarian means you can't shoot at them outside of 12".
But they can hurt you at 36"

I like Hellblasters + Apothecary + Librarian riding about in an Impulsor (with the 5++ shield).
My own Stormraven hauls 1 GK Dreadnought, 2 GK Brother Captains & 3 GK Librarians around.

Lathe, funny you should mention a package that costs exactly 155 points, since my list has 155 spare points. What sort of list does it go in?

I have an opponent who runs them in a Raven Guard list.
He sometimes runs two of them if he's fighting Custodes.
He uses them to kill high toughness infantry, while holding backfield objectives.
If they don't move they hit on 2+ and Wound most targets on 2+.
If you take the Librarius Conclave, and give the Enhancement Prescience to the Phobos Librarian, you can reactive move those guys around causing further issues to your opponent.
They can't ignore them, and they can't shoot them outside 12"
