How do!

Do you like Oldhammer? Do you like Chaos models? Do you like Liver? Do you have either or both of Realm of Chaos books? Do you like watching C-Beams glitter in the dark near Tannhäuser Gate? Are you looking for a 2026 side project?

If you answered yes to all of those? I have a proposal for you.

The new AoS Nurgle models have seriously bowled me over. I know AoS’ wider style isn’t for everyone. But these lads, and honestly a lot of AoS Chaos Models, have really tapped into the evocative art and style of Realm of Chaos. So much so that, whilst not right away? I am keen to get a small collection, basing it off the army selection process found in Realm of Chaos, Lost and the Damned.

And I’m putting an open invite out to anyone who might like to join me in that endeavour.

Given that era’s army tended toward being super small? Even in today’s prices such a project should fit many budgets. Especially if we agree say, One Unit Or Big Model a Month.

Conversions and proxies are of course allowed. This is An Oldhammer Project. And so it is the mend, make do, bodge and bettering ethos that should be a core part of it. Because this is a showcase type project. Not something you or I will ever necessarily get a game in with. Just a fun side project and an excuse to flex the hobby muscles for the delectation of the audience here present, and maybe even sharpen some up.

Ideally One For Each God, but I don’t want to be so stringent, nor limit the number of participants. Nor do I otherwise want to apply rules to it. If you’re a jammy sod and have models from that era? Use them! If you want to move at a faster or slower pace? Do so!

So let me know if there’s any interest, and what sort of points level you think would be commonly achievable. I want people to commit to a bit of hobby fun, not a hobby grind.

Well, one of my Oathmark projects is somewhat a mono-nurgle army exactly like this. But it's still in the "planning and putting discount boxes on the pile"-stage.
However, it'll feature Rotswords, Blightkings, Plague Monks, The Hobbit-Goblins, Pestigors, Darkwater stuff, possibly plague ogres, river trolls and other stuff from various producers.
Ask me in about three years from now about the progress.

Urgh... I've still got my 1990s Slaves To Darkness book just sitting there, taunting me... I want to, I really want to. Damn you Doc, you're rocking some Champion-of-Slaanesh levels of alluring there. I just can't commit to any more painting projects though, with my once-every-couple-of-weeks hobbying motivation at the moment...

The last batch of marauders really tempted me, but I’ve got enough irons in the fire right now.

Tempting though. I don’t have the real old books, but did have a chaos army back in 5th/6th WHFB.
