Sacrifice to the Dark God Tzeentch

Somewhere between Alpha and Omega

Hi everyone, new to this forum but I'm very glad to be here! I actually had my first contact with 40k back when 3rd edition dropped, and I’ve been dipping in and out of the hobby ever since. I tried getting properly back into it at the start of 8th, but I didn’t really manage to stick with it.
Now the Warhammer bug has bitten me again, and I’m hoping that keeping this blog updated will help me stay motivated and actually finish a proper Chaos Space Marine force this time around.

I couldn't include links in my first post so I hope I can show some pics with my next one. More to come!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
My army is Chaos Space Marines – Alpha Legion, with a bit of a Tzeentchy vibe and a strong tech focus. That’s why the first unit I’m showing here is actually one of the least typical for that theme.
The story behind them: I had the 2 Possessed from the Shadowspear box sitting around. When the unit size got bumped up to 5, I didn’t really see a way to use them on the table anymore. Recently, while ordering some individual bits online, I had the idea to just add 3 Possessed bodies to the cart.
I love kitbashing, but building Possessed completely from scratch felt a bit too ambitious. However, I’ve got a pretty stacked bits box, so I figured: if I have a basic model to work from, I can save some money and still end up with a cohesive result that fits the original two Possessed.
So I picked out three dudes and limited myself mostly to torso, legs, and some arms. That gave me three solid starting points for conversions – and the whole thing only set me back 15 euros.

Cult troops aren't really my thing. In my army, that is. So I originally planned to make all five Possessed as unaligned Chaos models. But I also had some sweet deity bits lying around that I really liked.
That sparked the idea: make one undivided dude in the squad, and dedicate the other four to the different gods. I quickly found perfect matches for the three new ones and just needed to swap out one arm. Here's my first result – the Nurgle guy. I think I'll add some tentacle sticking out of his side through this hole.

For Tzeentch, a bird theme was obviously called for. So I took the guy who was already stomping around on chicken legs and hooked him up with some feathers and a pointy head.
I found this Tzeentchy bit (2nd shot) that slots perfectly between his legs thanks to its shape. But I'm not sure if it's a bit over the top – or if it misses the whole Possessed vibe. What do you guys think?
I mean, who doesn't love thumbing through some spell scrolls after a long day at work? For the arm, I'm still undecided – got this rubric-termie sword, or maybe a flamer hand. But if he has no hand, he can't lick his thumb while flipping pages. What's your preference?

That's it for today, folks. Hoping to keep these regular posts rolling. Next in line: the Khorne guy. Stay tuned!
