Blås attack;
Se till hans fana!
Följ eran kung,
Rid uti strid!

Blow the attack;
Follow his banner!
Follow the Emperor,
Ride to battle!

-A translated Middenlander war-cant

"As a general rule, I seek to the utmost not to wage unjust wars, but in a war I feel is just, I shalt be victorious no matter the cost."
Harvus Ulric, Imperial Claimant and Count of Osterlund

"In the past, I have been reluctant to throw our might behind Magnus, whom they now call 'the pious'. But let the arch-enemies of the White Wolf, one and all, know that today, in the name of our traditions and our freedoms, we take the battle to them!"
Ar-Ulric Kriestov, during the Great War against Chaos

Starting this off with my Knights Panther painted thus far. I'm a big fan of the Empire's pike and shot aesthetics, particularly in Middenland/Middenheim's blue-and-white scheme. But there are a lot of other good schemes in the Empire provinces, too. So naturally, for TOW, I'm doing Osterlund.

These Knights Panther's bardings are done in a more desaturated blue than the old studio models; it's AP Fanatic Night Sky or something to that effect. The faces are done by basing in Cadian Fleshtone, washing with Reikland (ironic) Fleshshade, then mixing up a highlight of AP Ruby Skin + Opal Skin 50:50 or roughly thereabouts. Armor is Leadbelcher washed with Nuln Oil and highlighted with Ironbreaker (if I feel like it), while the gold bits are Two Thin Coats Dragon's Gold washed with Reikland.

The thing about 40k is that no one person can grasp the fullness of it.
