Hi All

Its been a while since I have been able to get a game in of 40K and thought I would try getting a few games in this year of Horus Heresy. I have read that the terrain density is usually heavier than 40k and also a more narrative set up makes for a more fun game. This is not for tournaments just friends and we will be satarting small at around 1500pts max to learn the rules, the idea would be to scale up to 3k and reduce the density of terrain as the armies grow.

What do you think to the set up below based on a remote Mechanicum outpost to fight over? - how is the density of terrain, would you be happy to build an army to fight on it with prior knowledge of the layout?

Notes - tanks and knights have one clear route across the table and 2-3 other routes over low barricades or through area terrain - trees. back in old 40k 4-7th we played this dense but included removing low terrain overun by tanks - things like barricades and oil drum sizes. Woods could be destroyed through flamer/heat wepaons.

Looks good to me, but I always prefer denser boards, even at 3K.

Looks very beautiful, but could maybe do with some more tall solid pieces of terrain around the sides, tall enough to protect one Knight from another.
