I’ve seen a bunch of people doing this, attaching a conclave to a unit of guardians, or wind riders for the sky runners and adding a farseer too. I don’t think you’re allowed, but could be wrong and would quite like to be.
The conclaves leader rules says
“ At the start of the Declare Battle Formations step, if this unit is not an Attached unit, this unit can join one Guardian Defenders or Storm Guardians unit from your army (a unit cannot have more than one Warlock Conclave unit joined to it). If it does, until the end of the battle, every model in this unit counts as being part of that Bodyguard unit, and that Bodyguard unit’s Starting Strength is increased accordingly.”
And the leader rules says, “While a Bodyguard unit contains a Leader, it is known as an Attached unit”
So for me as soon as you stick a farseer in the conclave it can’t join the guardians.
But….the farseer can lead the guardians, so is it’s a sequencing thing where you add the conclave to the guardians squad unattached, then add the farseer to lead the guardians as they “count as being part of that Brady guard unit”?
Similar units like guard squads with command squads have the rule explicitly say you can add another character too? What do we think?
