I see Warlord's got the pre-orders up for the Gurkha Infantry Platoon, which look great and I will place a order. However, I was hoping for Australian Infantry for the Pacific and I not sure if a decent conversion can be done with the Gurkhas (eg no Owen MG or Machete) and they may have a different statue based on the photos of the painted miniatures.

Does anyone know if they are planning to release any more 'Commonwealth' plastic infantry (ie Australians)?

There is a Commonwealth infantry Set which is probably more what you're looking for.

There are also specifically Australian metal kits.

It's a bit of a hastle in terms of buying two kits, but combining the Gurhka kit with the Commonwealth Infantry box that Sgt. Cortez linked is probably your best bet.

I am surprised they didn't put more heads in, but I guess that's because they intend for you to do the above conversion.

If they're willing to do as niche a kit as Winter British in plastic I guess it's not impossible they get around to a dedicated Australian plastic kit eventually though (probably one that does double duty for the Chindits), but I bet we're probably a year at least out from that.
