I always felt Halo and Starcraft were natural fits for a tabletop wargame. They have the vehicle variety and faction variety for it. And now, a Halo-themed tabletop wargame is real!

Hopefully it does better than the space wargame.

My son (big Halo fan) and I have been playing it from time to time. It's fun, fast and is a pretty good representation of the units and equipment in the game.
The figs are quite good, but the ODST figures are notably bigger than they should be.
Highly recommended if you're a fan of Halo, or if you're just interested in a well done thematic implemention of the Deadzone system.

I have the Spartan Edition box game, but I haven't actually played it yet. From what I can tell it's more like the multiplayer from Halo than a standard wargame. Respawns, random weapon drops, all that. The models look really cool, I need to find time to paint mine at some point.

That was at the request of Halo Studios!

I guess ODSTs appear in one of two contexts in the game;
As NPC support characters for your player-character Spartan. Here they look small to make you look big and awesome.
And as player characters in their own rite, here they look normal size.
I guess they wanted ODSTs to seem more like the player-character versions for the game as that's what they're taking the role of.

I'm sure it was something like that, but context doesn't change the size. It's just a stupid choice because all the other game units (Spartans, Elites, Brutes) are properly scaled to each other and any fans of the game will be able to tell immediately that standard humans should not be the same size as a 7 foot Spartan.
