I was thinking about picking up the books.

Could someone briefly tell me the difference between between the books and the tv adaption?
Are the books that much greater?

One of my flaws is that as soon as i watch or read something I must endure till the end even if it’s bad…kind of a OCD.
So before I get into another long book series i try to get a perspective of it

Loved the show btw.

I would 100% recommend the book series.

There are some differences from the TV series. The TV show combined some characters from the books and the deaths of some characters are materially different than in the books. The death of

in the TV series was driven by outside factors and differs greatly from the books.

The other key part is the TV show ended before some significant changes in The Expanse universe timeline. The show sets up a few plot points that will pay off in the book series that are just left hanging in the TV series.

I know there are some mixed opinions on the series after the in-universe timeline jump, but I happened to like it.

Anyway, the short answer is that I would 100% recommend the books or any fans of hard SciFi.

I very much enjoyed most of the books. Quality and worth reading. The last one I read (book 8 ) I was not a fan of, kinda dragged. And book 9 has been sitting in my TBR pile staring at me. I want to finish the series, but keep getting distracted by other things. And after the last book, there isn’t the drive to keep at it.

I watched the first season of the show. I think. At some point I got distracted and wandered off. I keep meaning to get back and finish it, but never get around to it. Part of me wants to finish the books first, and I’ve already said how that’s going.

IIRC there was a pretty clean story break in the books that you could drop it at without too many loose ends. I forget what book that is though.

Actually, I think this is one of the rare cases were the show was better than the book but let's see what you think.
