B5 News Network ? Week 3<?
Exciting developments in the sector this week. After extensive recon and probing the gloves came off as massive fleets collided in large scale actions. But first these stories?
Shadowy Dealings?
Reports are in that Shadow vessels have begun encroaching in the sector. This small recon force was engaged by an Earth Force fleet under the orders of President Clark. The shadows defeated the EA force, the first reported shadow victory in the sector. <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com
ffice:smarttags" />Clark?s forces claim they ?could not get a target lock?. Others suspect that the rumored dealings between Clark and the Shadows may have affected the outcome of this engagement.
Drazi Recruit Re-enforcements
As combat in the sector heats up the Drazi have called on the aid of fellow League member the Brakri for support. The Brakri answered the call by providing at least one Takata class warship. Apparently the Vorlons got wind of this and although the Takata was under heavy Drazi escort [War 2] a massive Vorlon force set up a blockade [War 5] to prevent the new ship from reaching Drazi space. Thanks to a wide spread of Takata energy mine fire the nearby Vorlon fighters were eliminated while the Drazi vessels blasted a capitol ship from the sky. Reports are that all vessels made it through the blockade, however the Takata was crippled. The Drazi claim that the Brakri vessel is already fit for duty. No Vorlons could be reached for comment.
Vanishing Vree?
After a strong opening salvo in the sector this reporter has learned that the Vree have suffered another devastating defeat. The EA?s Commander Spiff learned the location of a strategic Vree convoy and engaged and decimated the grey folk. BNN has learned that this convoy was critical to the success of the Vree in the sector and suspects they may be pulling out. When asked to comment on how well the battle went Spiff stated ?Let?s just say I wouldn?t want Vree escorting my freighters.? BNN has launched Cam-Probes deep into Vree territory. There are no signs of Vree activity. However we did gain this footage from one of the probes:
?[Image of Probe closing on small object]?
?[Object looms larger]?
?[Object appears blurry, blue green in color]?
?[Object appears to be tall and narrow]?
?[Several small beams fire from object at probe]?.

Has a new race moved into former Vree territory already? Time will tell.
Centari on the Rise
Just last week we showed footage of bold Captain Mysto and his earth force preparing to take on the whole sector. Determined to gain strong control over Centari space Mysto launched a massive space battle against a large Centari force. The Centari surprised the Earth commander with impressive tactics and radical new ship designs. The loss was devastating. So much of the EA fleet was lost that they no longer hold a strong strategic position, while the Centari are now one of the most dominant forces in the sector. Is this the end of Mysto? Or is he preparing a counter strike as we speak? This reporter is a bit concerned, as the two most powerful races currently in the sector are, ironically, Narn and Centari. How many bystanders will be killed as they go after each other?s throats.
Vorlons Vanquish Drazi
Emboldened by their recent blockade run, the Drazi attempted to assassinate a key Vorlon vessel and attacked it in open space. Unfortunately for the Drazi, the Vorlons had an unusual escort with no less than 8 capitol ships with her. Although the mighty Solar cannon on the Stormfalcon was killing a fresh Vorlon ship with every shot, and the Darkhawk?s missiles did heavy damage, the Vorlons were killing Drazi vessels so fast they soon could not out maneuver the Vorlons to bring their bore sight weapons to bear. The Stormfalcon just managed to withdraw in time. The Vorlons lost 4 ships while the Drazi lost all but one. [Raid 5 v Raid 5]
Carriers Clash, Collide, and Crush
In the largest battle this reporter has seen (War 5 v War 5: Carrier Clash) an ISA Victory Warship and her White Star escorts engaged the 5th Expeditionary Fleet?s Warlock class warship and her escorts. The two massive ships closed quickly and fighters filled the sky. [This game looked amazing, as EVERYTHING was models, and those warships were HUGE]. It looked bad for the ISA early on as the Warlock?s bore site weaponry tore deep into the massive Victory and she was devastated with secondary explosions and soon lost. However the skilled rangers in their White Stars were able to avoid most incoming fire with amazing piloting and destroyed the Warlock and eventually her escorts. Although the ISA proved victorious, the battle was very bloody and both sides took heavy losses.
