Im just curious as I can't find my WD for info about it but wasn't the Vinidicator created by the BT? If so Im stating to notice an trend with the BT.

The News and Rumors section is all about surprises. I'd certainly hate it if we got 100 posts saying "I know something you don't know..." - malfred

If I remember correctly the original vindicator history had is first being used by the Dark Angels against a Ork assualt. I'll have to go through the old WD to confirm I think it was around issue 120

Sorry, I don't have that actual mag, but you can buy it there for $4 if you want all the juicy goodness.

Something like this http://www.desert-storm.com/VetPages/SMcDonald/ASU-85.html or http://www.battletanks.com/jagdpanzer_kanone.htm but with a Rhino chassis.

So it's essentially a Space Marine version of the IG Destroyer Tank Hunter?

An old White Dwarf of mine shows the vindicator as a variant of the rhino chasis which was specifically designed to bring heavy firepower into tight surroundings; i.e. city fights. The Rhino made an ideal all-terrain vehicle for close confines, and the flexibility and availability of the Rhino Chasis made a natural choice for the platform.

The Vindicator was definitely meant for upclose combat in it's initial iterations. The Cannon had a very short range in epic (I believe 18cm or something like that) and the tabletop variant was well short of a lascannon or battlecanon. Think of it as a huge Shotgun barrell with massive slugs for close-range building/fortification smashing.
