I know black and yellow have been done many times, and probably in alternating bands as I am attempting, but I'm new to 40k (WF player) and just loved the bugs, and haven't seen any armies even (I always averted my eyes from 40k, hehehe).  I looked at photos of beetles and other insects for color ideas, man there are some insanely colored bugs out there!!!  In the end, the colors we all instinctively know mean "danger" won out, at least for my tyrant...

just wanted feedback from vets to see if a whole army with these basic colors would work...this is about half-done, I will do more highlighting, shading and blending, but it's enough to get the general idea across...

personally I haven't seen alternating armour plates painted yellow then black then yellow etc as you've done, and I like it, particularly with the contrast against the pale 'flesh'

wow, that is very deja vu Very good, our exoskeleton tones are a bit different and I like your pale tones that you've done. Seems our hive genetics must have crossed during an invasion, good luck on the rest of the swarm and keep us updated

Nifty, particularily like the carapace. The skin looks nice too.

The red veins and tongue look out of place, maybe use a dark blue or purple.

I keep trying to copy GW's Leviathan paint scheme but I'm getting nowhere. Do you have any advice on pale skin tone painting?

Cheers
