CoD rules state that a barrage weapon must hit the highest level the hole of the template is over, as opposed to blast/large blast weapons that you pick the floor and scatter as normal.

The question is, are Orbital Strikes an ordance barrage? The listing states that a strike counts as barrage for the opurposes of forcing a pin check. However, the weapon notes say only 'Ordnance blast', however, the reference sheet calls it an ordnance barrage, but listing in the codex says blast. On top of that, the Demonhunter FAQ states 'The target terrain piece can be of any size. When firing, the template may be placed anywhere within said terrain piece."

So, does a lance strike get to choose which floor to strike? Or does it get stopped by a few feet of ferrocreate?

When the codex and reference sheet contradict eachother, the codex entry takes priority.

If the codex states that the orbital strike counts as barrage weapon purely for the purposes of pinning tests, and the weapon profile says Ordnance blast, then it is as ordnance blast, and you should be able to declare which floor it is targeting.

This is how I'm reading it, anyways... I could be wrong

If you don't have it explode on the highest level what are you going to do when you target an intermediate level and the template deviates off of that level (it is definitely going to deviate)?
Is it going to explode:
1) in midair at that level
2) at the first level it hits
3) at ground level

My guess is choice 2) which means you will be taking the best of both worlds. If you intend to do that then you better make sure your opponent understands that before you start.

my guess is it explodes on the top floor. it just sounds right.

other question: is there a strength 10 Orbital Strike? and if, can it be upgraded with siege shell?

It looks like Orbital strikes have the same problem in COD that they did in Cityfight: No thought was given to how they should work.

Personally I think they should hit ALL levels of a building (and be treated as though they have the siege shells strategem), but that's just me.
