Those have to be fakes. GW is too cheap to put that much new art into a 40k book. They paid for all that John Blanche/Adrian Smith art, and they're going to keep reproducing it in black-and-white until they go bankrupt or the copyright finally expires.

It does look like a black library cover.. and its not on the level of the OLD cityfight codex cover art (my favourite) but its alright.

Those have to be fakes.

Some of it is new and a lot of it is art from the various Sabertooth 40K CCGs that were developed.

While being pretty nice, i don't feel that they are fitting for an 40k Codex. The Black and White drawings are far too nice.

Love it. I hate the majority of the black-and-white drawings. Well, the blanchetastic ones. I love the B&W technical drawings.

I like them. When we got the 4th ed. Hardcover, I think my favorite parts were the

I like them too.

Besides, I'm sure it wouldn't be all THAT hard to just run the pics through photoshop (or any photo manipulating program) and turn it into black and white pics.

I don't like how all the Shuriken weapons are seen as if their firing a laser beam. Thats never how I saw them working. But the artwork is nice none the less.

Wow, some of those (6X) are THE BEST GW art I have seen so far...very Black Library cover style. The jet bikes, swooping hawk, and bieltan farseer art is rediculous. Some do look a bit card art, but Im not depressed. Since art is sibjective I give these +++.

Actually, they look like they actually are the card art.

How reliable is the source?

As for the laser thing, the only thing I can come up with is shiny flashing is all you see, the discs are too fast. A stream of twinkling stars would probably not look any better.

They look quite a bit like the style of artwork in the Epic Swordwind book. Card art or not, definatly nice.

They most definetly ARE card art- and the source is pretty damn reliable- the more reliable sources on warseer agreed on it. I find it shocking that people have a hard time believing GW is reusing art they've already paid for once.

GW has done this extensively for the Epic Armageddon rulebook and the Swordwind rulebook and has also used Sabertooth card art in White Dwarf in a few places as well as article filler.

Bring back the 2nd Ed Eldar artwork!

This stuff is a bit meh.

"The last known instance of common sense happened at a GT. A player tried to use the 'common sense' argument vs. Mauleed to justify his turbo-boosted bikes getting a saving throw vs. Psycannons. The player's resulting psychic death scream erased common sense from the minds of 40k players everywhere. " - Ozymandias
