Elite Tyranid Warrior

I have seen several army lists on the web that make use of one type or another of the ork elite units as troops, with a specific klan name. (For example, Snakebites with Kommandos) I have not played an ork army before, although I have both a chaos and a marine army, and I am interested in making an ork waaagh! with one of these alternate arrangements. Where, if any, are the rules for building a specialized army like this?

You can find em at the UK site under orks.

However, the original 'dex is flexible enough to cover just about anything (except for Snakebits and KoS, but the KoS has its own rulebook).

I dont like the klans as much (except for the KoS, but they're viable) because they make you take 2 squads of some expensive ork choice that will die as easily.

If at first you don't succeed, you fail.

There are 3 different rule sets I am aware of outside Codex rks. Ferals, Klans, and KoS.

These rule sets give Orks alot of Flavor, imho the best in the game outside of Spacemarines (for their imapct on flavor, nothing else).

I personally don't like the Klan rules, as I find them too restricting, so I went KoS. Mucho Fun.

Another option is to simply call them "insert Klan" and use the vanilla codex lists.

In any event www.the-waaagh.com is the best place to go for orky advice. There is an anti-stupid setiment going through the ranks right now, specifically aimed at newer people. There have been a couple of really really big tools latley. The point is, think your first few posts through and you should be fine.

They should be up for download under the 40K orks section of the UK site.
