I mean, Jayce is a classic. And has been part of my power playlist alongside Dare and The Touch. Might just be because I was an 80’s kid, but nothing like an 80’s medium rock power ballad hypes me up, especially when I’m feeling down or under pressure.
Then there is of course….

I always preferred instrumental themes with my animated big stompy robots and spaceships...
'It is a source of constant consternation that my opponents cannot correlate their innate inferiority with their inevitable defeat. It would seem that stupidity is as eternal as war.'

Space battleship Yamato is one of the most recognized (and best) anime opening themes in history and the unofficial theme of the JMSDF

I know, yet I still prefer the instrumental version...

Several years ago, looks like 2011 from the file folder, I got a hold of the Yamato soundtrack. It's like 18 different albums. If you can find it, it's really solid. On the seas it was. Arrrrr.
More of that pleasant music.

Many many years ago I bought this album on cassette. I saw this video once and decided to go buy it. I can't say if it was a good album or not, I don't really remember.
And then this morning reading a headline about a certain Dr. and a certain soon to be former head of a particular government agency, this song came to mind.
It's set to play at the part of the song that came to mind. It's probably the reason I wanted to buy this album and we weren't able to buy just one track back then.
The album cover was kinda fun. A Used car salesman in front of a car for sale.

And I’m sure there are Dakkanauts of similar undisclosed vintage singing a very, very different set of lyrics to this.
Dirty Boys!
When I visit a certain department at work, the entrance is at the end of a ramp and the entrance to the right where all the workers greet me. Yes, it's that moment at 0:48.
This band is fantastic. I listen to them a lot at the gym but mostly when I need a laugh.
Track 5 is one of my favorites because of the punchline which is an 8oz glass of Wild Turkey and who doesn't love that. Probably you.

In early 1991 my brother's friend was kind enough to let us borrow his entire ZX Spectrum collection while he went on holiday, and I was introduced to an incredible wealth of games that included a game called "Golden Axe". The cover art was awesome and the booklet described the tragically savage world of "Yuria". Death=Adder was THE big baddie in video game history! I'd play this tune before school every morning...
...we were lucky to have even a 48K+ and every game we bought was a gift from the gods and we were bloody grateful. That one-channel tune sold me on the atmosphere of barbaric-but-righteous vengence! Stepping into an arcade and playing these games with their powerful hardware was like an E3 trade show of the best ****ing games on planet Earth. So the music in all it's glory...
That title-attract tune wasn't a tune...it was a call to arms...to vengence! Yeah, my head was totally in the clouds and I had to play as Gillius Thunderhead. Absolute badass! A year later and my father bought a 486SX PC, and my brother - once again - got a copied disk from a friend and I lost my mind! Sure, playing with the keypad was annoying but it was surprisingly close to the arcade original...
...and that's the version I loved the most. To leap from a ZX Spectrum & it's beeper, to a powerful 486SX with sound blaster, it was nothing less than a gift from the gods. And we had yet to discover the shareware of Wolfenstein3D that was included on the hard disk...we didn't know what hit us.
