I was reading the chaos codex and it said that any number of veteran skills maybe taken by a unmarked squad.  I was thinking about how a an unmarked squad with infiltrate, ferious charge, counter attack and tank hunters would preform it seems like it wopuld be fun to inclue a unit of these 26 point chaos guys in a black legion army.  Have any off you guys played this? How did it preform?

I was thinking about fielding a squad of havocs with 4 autocannons, tank hunters and infiltrate. BP+CCW marines with Infiltrate and Furious Charge could be interesting.

Otherwise, I think the rerollable LD for taking Mark of Undivided is worth it over the other combinations.

I don't know, Ld 10 is pretty hardcore; I'd risk it to get some extra punch and/or flexibility for my squads.

I'm not sure how to run the math on this, but my feeling has always been that while combining tank hunter and infiltrate looks tempting, it would be too expensive to pay off, making each marine in a squad 20 points (as opposed to 14). Add to that losing the MoCU reroll (which is such a bargain points-wise anyway), and you have a very expensive unit that might be driven off the table with one unlucky roll of the dice. I can't bring myself to try it.

Well, for a different 20 points, you get a Berserker that can be lead around the table by a spare Speeder or Rhino, achieving exactly nothing, and people don't seem to have a problem with them... The Infil/TH combo actually gives you control over the models you buy, and enhances the chance that they'll positively affect the game in a proportion appropriate to the investment.

I think the almost certainty of getting 8x S9 first turn shots on the *side* of a vehicle like an LRBT, a Predator, a Hammerhead, or even on a high toughness/moderate save model like a wraithlord, C'tan etc. would make them worth their points. Not to mention the chance of sniping a poorly placed IC.

The unit comes in at 240 pts with 4 ablative wounds, I believe. So they'd have to pop more than one tank or IC to make their points back, it's true. But they'd also severely mess with your opponent's tactics, especially if you can infiltrate into hard cover.

Doh, I meant 8x S8 shots vs vehicles. 8x S7 shots vs MCs. Oops.
