Nothing. You can count on one thing when you play DE- raiders will explode. The point of a raider is to deliver troops/fire. There are a great many really cool upgrades you can put on them like slave snares and torture amps, trophy racks and horrorfexes, but all of them will end up as wasted points in your pile of smoking wreckage that used to be an armor 10 open topped hover sled. Ravagers might be able to use a few upgrades (but apply sparingly since ravagers die pretty easily too) but raiders are just not sturdy enough.

Hey happypants the last thread you started was how to kit out your DE army. How about try something you like and see if it works or proxy stuff with friends and try. There are things in my armies I hate others swear by but I cannot use them. Just try them out yuorself and get a feel. Proxy if money is an issue.
My friend puts on a lance and uses 1 in the army for a lord and incubi. Very nasty if played right but very tough to play right. It works and works well for him but last thread some people were saying never take incubi. See what works for you man.
I take more pride in my army knowing I made this army and worked on the list and now I have a very effective list. You will too. I once bought an army from a friend and played the army like him and won frequently but it was no fun as it was just me playing somebodys elses army. Trial and error my friend = greater satisfaction, or at least that is what I found.
Just my 2 cents and that's 2 cents Canadian

I take Horrorfex into every single Raider in my army (so 5 of them in 1500).
Now there's a question wether Horrorfex can be fired with the main weapon, on the other hand it is listed as 'defensive weapon' in the FAQ, but again the entry in the Codex says that no other weapons may be used (or something like that). I've been shooting with both weapons, but Horrorfex is a great weapon and in my book a 'must have', even if it can be used at the expense of Raider's Dark Lance. Many times it's just more useful to pin a unit instead of just killing one of its members.

I prefer to take disintegrators over darklances. -1 Strength, but it's a template weapon with the same range. Sure it doesn't get the lance bonus, but if you charge a mob of enemies, before your hapless 5+ armour save warriors get minced it's good to soften the enemy up first. Dunno why they gave it the option of heavy 4 S4 tho... just nowhere as good as maxi option.
