Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

I will be buying one less, if not three less Baneblades from GW this year. Assuming these prices affect both the US and CAN markets.
I will however be painting the same amount of minis .
I am a little disapointed by the increase in the starter sets. I had GW's prices pegged at "just right" after the last decrease. Automatically Appended Next Post: ... to put it another way, the price was low enough the stuff was almost worth buying for its own sake. But with an increase I will be looking to say upgrade my car instead. Does not mean I will not be buying piles of the stuff anyway. Automatically Appended Next Post: Also, Lego is awesome. Yeah, I think fixing up cars might be a cheaper hobby than GW now. And a more worthwhile investment.

While I personally don't care about how much stuff costs (within reason) since I have a decent salary, there is no excuse for this kind of price gouging. Whoever is responsible, I hope for every extra dollar they make off this price hike, they develop one inoperable tumor.

That is a little bit extreme. However, I think GW just did the online stores that sell for less than retail a huge favor. Now more than ever people will look for alternative ways to get these models for less and that means that GW will be making less money by raising their prices... Doesn't this sound like a great business strategy to you?

Yes, they don't understand the basic concept of volume sales. This started back when Andy Chambers drafted a plan to target younger audiences because "veterans have all their stuff already anyway, so they're not buying anything... while kids have no real expenses and parents that want to shut them up". That may have been true back in the day where you had to convert half your stuff from almost scratch anyway, but now that they have such complete product lines, people would collect multiple armies.
Miniature gamers are compulsive collectors. When Warmachine was cheaper than GW games, I managed to acquire four armies. If they were still at roughly the same price point, I'd own all the factions now instead of only a quarter of them (and I had half at one point, but I got rid of them because I couldn't afford to continue fleshing out all of them, and needed the extra cash to flesh out the ones I liked best). So with increasing prices, instead of having me buy new items for multiple armies, and picking up new ones, they end up with me trading my existing models, which means they make 0 money.
And yes, tumors. They probably already have them, in any case; it would explain their astounding stupidity and lack of vision.

I'm glad I jumped into the demon army. There are plenty of alternate sources of demons on the market and most of them look better anyway.

Doesnt GW scream and kick you out of their stores / events if they found out you use another company's minis?

All this has really done to me is cut out bulk buying. I still will buy one off pieces I need but I recently was considering a Chaos Marine army and it was going to be about $350 after discount. Instead I traded some FoW stuff that I wasn't using for a huge marine army instead and all I need is basically three drop pods. So in effect this has cut them out of $250 in sales throughout the chain.
