a canadian college certificate is equal to a associated degree generally speaking.

Myself, I'm finishing up the honours portion of my Bachelor of Arts Political Science this year, then its back to doing stuff that matters.

I finished high school more than 10 years ago. I worked for several years and retail and then decided there was no way I could work retail till I retire and am currently in my 3rd year of University.

I finished High School with a good number of GCSEs (can't remember how many, didn't fail any of my courses though)m attempted college but had to drop out due to mental health reasons (gak was hitting the fan really bad and it was far too hard to cope).

Started an IT Apprenticeship on May 2nd this year, finish at the end of January next year, had my payment fethed around with, had work placements that weren't suitable thanks to half-arsed efforts from my training company, but still managed to become CompTIA A+ and N+ certified, pass all my City and Guilds courses and i'm starting on my MCDST (Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician I think) next week.

In the UK you start aged 11 - 12 depending on your date of birth. You must attend until you have completed your GCSE exams (age 16) by law (some exceptions can be made for vocational courses at college) and there is an option to remain in high school until you are 18 to complete your A-Level exams whire needed for university entrance in a lot of cases.
