I've found that the best way to include IA stuff in regular/tournament games is to only allow one of each choice unless you are actually running a IA list.

Very little is hideously overpowered if you only get to bring one

the real problem is IA stuff just doesn't get play tested enough. I mean sure on paper it could look cruddy or OP but how would it fare in the many situations a regular game has to offer? Honestly I would like to see some real research done by both FW and Gamesworkshop on such things as the DKOG and such. But as for the current set most of them seem to be designed under the specific conditions its listed in the IA book.

The same way they deal with any land raider. Orks don't use melta or lance weapons to begin with. S10 Powerklaw on warboss. S9 Powerklaw on Nobs charging. S10 kans and dreads. Deffrolla it.

Yes but this LR has -1 on the tables
So when the warboss/deffdread is near it will move 7+
so the boss/walker needs a 6 then a 5 and then a 6 to wreck it
the powerklaw needs three 6es in a row to do the same.
Deffrola is the best option as it only needs to be in 13' range and then get a 5 and a 6 in a row on d6rolls. Pity everything in the codex doesn't have a deffrola.

Exactly right.

I have never even see one of these on the table and it is obviously terribly unbalanced. Playtesting has nothing to do with it. The goal is to appeal to people who just want a "no thinking required win button." (a poorly made, overpriced win button)
