Has anyone been to the tree since I was last on?
Also, I've figured out that my enchantment room idea will work, as long as we cover the outside of it to house the ugly pistons and redstone, maybe out of wood planks?
Or maybe birch or Darkwood Automatically Appended Next Post: Actually, I've decided to use a casing similar th that of the houses in the video

My main concern about the tree city would be the flammability issue, a giant tree made of wood with houses would be a greifers wet dream. A High Elf city might be more longer lasting, we do have a desert next door for the sandstone.

yeah, but I always wanted a tree... you know, why don't we build both? lke, the high elf one could be floating in mid air? edit: actually, mojang have said that all old wooen slabs that re placed won't be converted to the new ID in the new update that they are working on, so if we reach the point I want us to before the update, we can make it fire proof (from the bottom) like that also, if something big is griefed (or tonnes of small things in a short time period) Dark or Lego usually resest the server to before it happened, and make a compensation box. so, griefing a big wooden tree won't really matter. as long as no one lights it on fire by accident...

Ok, branch has leaves underneath, mondo and I found and took ownership of a mineshaft
started making a spawn tunnel, for those who hate the nether and don't want above ground slowing them down.

The other thing to think about now, is actually Lightning. where you are, its fairly common and will look exactly like griefing especially becuase of the tree issue. So top and bottom will need to be fireproof.

ok, well, that will be an issue.
also, are you sure it is so common?
hmm, maybe pools of water on top above the throne rooms so lightning strikes will be put out?
Or maybe we make the throne room out of wooden slabs?
hmm so many decisions...

Many people that build big trees make them out of dirt.
It looks nearly the same.

Well, I suppose something like leaves with dirt on the top won't matter, but further down has to be wood, we are living in it

It's just, I was thinking of using leaves, it would look better
and I would , but really, it will bbe undercovr anyway from the other branches, other leaves, and the throe room at the top

I'd help, but I'm a Dwarf, and that's plenty busy.
What I'd suggest is to actually check some of the other 'massive tree' builds in Minecraft- like the one from RPGMakers, or the Superhostile map, or the Parkour tree. Also, I'd say make the tree bigger. Like, 50 or so blocks across at the base, with at least three big branches about 16 or so blocks up- we have up to 200 blocks now for hight, no need to think small. Also, don't put leaves in yet. Concentrate on the branches and wooden bits, use those as the thoroughfairs and where you'll build the houses and buildings off of.
Ground buildings should be lighter, more airy. I'll see about some examples from a creative map. Get some jungle trees, or work on making other megatrees around the main one- right now it's less Forest and more smattering. Automatically Appended Next Post:
Like this, maybe. You can have a very open building style while still being completely protected from mobs and rain.

I think you're right about the tree being too small, and having too small a base, but not about the houses, I like them.
But where to put the tree....
