The Storm raven I'd like to build like a gunship, using the Forge World bomber rules. The Valkyrie probbebly looses the cargo bay, and become's a fighter like plane...
As a plane buff, I know a lot of WWII planes and old type jet planes. ( I love the RAF museum in London, and especialy the Cambera and the Baufighter ) And I'd like to incorperate some design elements of old planes into this army.

The Valkyrie was always intended for this army. The Storm Raven was sutch a deal I could not walk away from.... And as my marine army already has 2 I figured it would be of better use here to...

Have not got much done the last few weeks.
But as I dicided that this army is going to be a Grot army on Ork rules I needed some stronger troops.
The Kromlech clanking destroyers gave me a good idea. So I went on to build my own Grot cunstructs that replace the orks.
Got a lot of models to make, even for one troop choice....

In the background is the base I intend to use for the terain modeling contest. Hopefully I get that finished in time......

You want to look towards the good old 80s movies for inspiration, they have loads of badly designed robots that would work nicely for grot inspired mechanics

They really came out well, love the idea too, lets hope building a horde of them wont drive you too mad, or perhaps that will only advance your inner mek boy

Well, this army keeps me busy for a while to come. Luckely my girlfiend/wife to be understands the need for a project, so it goes allong on a slow but steady pace, even though we are in the midle of a renovation... I hope we get it done by januarie as planned, so my building time will get a boost....

Been busy with the move lately.
But here's some progres. Got another Idea into my head for the second Mega Dread.
The body of a Defiler with a killa kan body added..
Looks like a good start to me. Now for the legs. The cannon I made already will probebly be combined with a Defiler claw arm.
Then only some secondary weaponry, but that's easy.......

The GS you used to make a welding bead is really well done and a great idea. Adds more character and fluff possibility.

The cheapest bit's in bitsshops are often the most interesting.
I got another idea cooking, in the same sort of style. Pic's will follow asap.

Having an active inner Mek helps with the idea's. Now just getting around to finising them all.....

The Mega Dread got legs and a big gun.
The arm and gun are magnatized for movement, transport and weapon flexebility.

Then there's a body for Death Dread number 4... Now on for the legs....

Interesting leg choice! But I like how it scales to the actual model, I have no idea how large mine is in comparison.

Having a spare defiler myself, I love the use you've made of it - will probably steal the idea. Although I'll probably wait for the new codex, hoping that a megadredd or similar will appear as a standard unit.

Ugh, how I wish I could field a grot tank army during tourney play.

I am sure you could, just use them for tracked warbuggies of the various types.

Grot tanks make fine counts-as kanz. Now we just need GW to fix the kanz rules...

It's been a while sins I last posted, but the move took more time than anticipated....
And now I'm slowly getting my old desk ready to build again. I need some propper lighting for building and photo's.

Pics wil follow. Hopefully by next week the kan and tankz factory will be up and running again..

Nice armoured Grot-fist you got there! Loving the conversions of the tanks and dreads! 4 legged Behemoths are so cool, I might steal that idea if you don't mind for my own Grot army!

Ha, Got some building done at last. The move is mostly done, so now back to Grots and mechanized goodies... ( and some organizing stray moving boxes once in a while)

The second Mega dread is on the move again. The close combat arm was an easy thing, I got the Defiler arm from a club member, and the shoulder plate is now in progres. Both are magnatized seperatly for transportation and posible conversion in the future. The gun arm and gun are also magnatized...
DX took it's sweet time in shipping, but delevered als usual in the end....

Found some interesting background to orks, and found the mighty Russbot/Ruzzbot.
Figured that I could always field it as a Mega Dread, so the threads I had lying around got a destination.

And a trooper more.

The fourth Death Dread just became Mega Dread 3. The legs were to big to make it a DD.

So with the Ruzzbot that makes for four playable Mega Dreads. (When finished)
This is gonna be a big big army.....
