Welcome to issue 30 of Figure Painter Magazine.
One of the goals of FPM is to show you, our readers, things that you may have never seen before and introduce you to new ideas. That’s why this issue is a bit of a special one dedicated to flachen zinnfiguren or flat tin figures. In this issue we have a show report from the Mecca of this sometimes overlooked part of our hobby, Kulmbach. We also have instruction about how to sculpt a demi round and even a guide to buying them. Jessica Rich shares with us how she painted her first flachen zinnfiguren and this month’s insight is with Penny Meyer, who was awarded Best of Show for flachen zinnfiguren at Kulmbach earlier this year.
We have all the usuals reviews, views and news and interviews; in fact, we speak to Karol Rudyk, whom we last spoke to in issue one, about his latest project that we can exclusively reveal in this issue!
Also we have a breath taking tutorial from Adrian Hopwood about his sensational rendition of Hush and one from our very own Italian Stallion, Davide Rainone on how he recently painted his award winning Dr. Doom bust.
All this for £1.30...we must be mad!

Things move quickly and we’ve got a lot happening in the coming few weeks. SeminART is all sold out and we’re really looking forward to heading down to Cardiff with Fernando Ruiz for the first of many painting seminars with the top artists from all over Europe.
Initiative Magazine issue 1 will be released soon after. The guys over at IM are all busily crossing the I’s and dotting the T’s, so the proofing team will have their work cut out. The FPM web page will be undergoing a major overhaul to make room for Initiative Magazine. We have also introduced the new prize for the best painted miniature posted on the FPM facebook page. From now on, winners will receive an exclusive FPM paint palette, something I’m really pleased with. FPM Bundle number 3 is now available so catching up with those missed issues is now a lot easier.
Then, of course, there is this issue of FPM. It’s packed with tutorials that will suit everyone’s taste. We also have a load of reviews as well as all the usual articles and a pretty special insight interview with a comic and miniature concept artist who paints for the likes of DC, Marvel and LucasFilm…none other than Gabriele Dell’Otto!

This issue is packed with articles and again, we have tutorials that will suit everyone and be helpful to all levels of painters. Marta Slusarska has written a really useful tutorial about the many ways to mount our miniatures and busts. French sculptor Greg Girault explains how he sculpted his recently released Saxon bust. Marko Paunovic continues his post-apocalyptic diorama, where, this month, he lays down the electronics for the LEDs and finally, we have the second part of Fernando Ruiz’s Norman Warrior and Saxon Housecarl, the miniatures he painted during our first SeminART.
Speaking of SeminART, Luke Wilson brings us his in-depth report on the weekend and for those who are thinking of attending one in the future, it’s well worth a read. Also in this issue we have loads of reviews from companies like Nuts Planet, FeR Miniatures, Filbot and many more. We also point the company spotlight on Ares Warforge, a new miniature producer in Poland. Starting all this off is a fantastic Insight interview with one of my favorite painters of all time, the immensely talented Fabrizio ‘Rusto’ Russo.

Welcome to Figure Painter Magazine issue 48.
In this issue, we have some really cool stuff. We start off with an Insight interview with a true miniature artist, Antonio Leveque, who I've want to get into the magazine for quite some time. Davide Rainone finally managed to pin him down. We also have two brilliant full tutorials from Luke Wilson and Krzysztof Kobalczyk and some smaller 'How To's' from myself and Terry Cowell when we take a look at some new paints. Also in this issue, we take a look at a diorama that was first seen back in 2012 and one of my all-time favourite pieces - 'Frutti Di Mare' by Robert Blaha.
As always, we want to hear from our readers. Send in suggestions, questions or anything you feel like to our Facebook or e-mail and we hope you enjoy this issue, I think it's one of our best.

As some of you might know, FPM was discontinued after issue 51. However, all issues are available to download for free. Also there is still new content comming to the social media sites, but just not in magazine format anymore.
Hi Everyone,
It with sadness that I have decided to stop producing Figure Painter Magazine and Initiative Magazine. With the growing popularity of other media and people self publishing, coupled with the UK’s economic uncertainty, both magazine have steadily become unviable publications over the last year. So, I have taken the decision to stop them. Our servers will be turned off soon and the magazines will be removed from sale, so if you want them before they disappear, now is the time.
But fear not, we are not disappearing. We are keeping the social media pages going and we’ll continue to share with you the best examples our hobbies has to offer as well as the most up-to-date news from the hobby and we’ll also be publishing some new articles, review and tutorials directly on our social media pages, which have some of the greatest number of followers this hobby has, so more people can read them for free.
I would like to thank everyone who read the magazines while they were being produced, their support kept us going since 2013 and keep an eye out for new projects from the FPM and IM teams coming in the future.
This is an offer simply too good to ignore so share the hell out of this post. All back issues of FPM free to all modellers anywhere in the world! FPM made friends all over the world and we feel its the least we can do to try and encourage our friends to stay at home and to relieve some of the boredom if you are in lockdown. We are a universal family who speak a language few outside of our hobby understand but what draws us together is a shared passion and a lot of care for our community.
