What, you mean the fantasy land idea that MEQ infantry are overcosted and incapable in the current metagame, largely because "zomg Heldrakes!"? Please.

When you are given calculations that disprove your already biased comparisons you dismiss them.
I've argued some are close enough that they aren't stupendously meaningful, but that's not the same thing. I've conceded others or shown how they rely on a very specific set of circumstances and don't always hold true.

What is there to discuss?
From someone who's first post in this thread accused me of something I had already addressed on the first page, this seems like a rather odd statement to make...

The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

There's a reason why people ally in IG blobs to place an HQ in instead of taking their own troops in MEQ Codices.

Sometimes sure, like Azrael when he can give the entire unit a 4+ invul save, though that's also a case of the allies rules allowing for stuff that wasn't intended for or thought about when designing the army. That's not an issue of MEQ units being bad or GEQ units being better, it's about providing a meatshield for a character that's going to provide the primary power no matter what they're put in.

Really, though, people ally in IG because they're much better at holding objectives than MEQ, and then put their HQ in there because why not? You're not taking the IG squad as a meatshield for the Character, you're taking the Character because it makes the scoring unit that much better.

Only if you're talking about a blob squad with some sort of additional Ld reinforcement. They aren't taking Vets, individual Infantry squads, etc for scoring purposes. That doesn't make MEQ units bad or GEQ units good, it means a big mass of dudes with Ld reinforcement and even a modicum of damage reduction is good at sitting in one place and not dying. That and if you're taking a full blob squad, it's likely about twice the price of a standard MEQ unit too

depends on the character, though yes I'll agree with this sentiment as well.

Either way though, doesn't mean MEQ's are bad, it means a 200/300somethingpt blob with Ld reinforcement makes a better immmovable object than a 150pt Tac squad. That said, this is getting somewhat off course here from the topic of 4+sv units having issues, as neither is really a 4+sv unit
