As for why I'd use the german word for it?

Because that's what the English language does best.
Don't have a word for it, pinch one from another language.

The non-german word is "taking pleasure in someone else's misfortune". Using the german is simply economical.


I find the death of ANY magic player to be comedy. The amount they spend on their cards is the tragedy.

I've had friends swap their CAR for a deck of cards. I've seen couples split over a stupid card game. I have no fondness for the obsessions or the obsessives.


I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
