I'm just getting into Mordheim with my club mates... I used to play Necromunda back in the day but somehow missed out on this awesome game.
I'm getting started on a lizardmen table for some lustrian loveliness.

Whoa, dude! That's awesome. Really neat stone work on those pyramids. How did you do that? Those blocks in the background... Hmmm. Are you just carving up foam? That looks really good.

Note, some of these terrain pieces are ones I had made awhile back. Mostly the darker coloured ones are older pieces. Considering going over everything with that pale blue. Not all stone structures would have been made from the same type of stone, no doubt, but most of it surely would have been as the materials had to have come from local if not nearby quarries.

Anyways, there ya go Dakka. A group shot of most of my homemade terrain. It sure ain't the prettiest, but I also didn't spend very much. Most expensive supplies here are probably the glue and paint, everything else is recycled, scrounged or downright stolen.

I would like to build some stuff that's more on par with my miniatures (so only marginally better). But I also like the idea that if I break a terrain piece its not a big deal. Also if I move, I don't have to worry about packing up a bunch of fragile terrain pieces. Most of it can go right back into the recycling bin if a home can't be found for it. Its here to stay for now though and I'm looking forward to gaming with all of it!

As an aside I'm not really chuffed with the way the sewer interior looks and I'm going to try toning it down with some spray paint.

On a side note I decided to chew some more paper and I got the lid done. This time I was a smart cookie and added black paint to my glue mix so now instead of whole wheat brown and paper bag beige its mostly black.

Cacty knows what's up! Lol.

Anyways, here is the lid. And also proof of the hot island sun. Its like a free kiln some days! gaks already half dry!

I make a lot of stuff out of salvaged styrofoam. But for those temples I finally splurged on some brand new insulation foam...It's more dense with smaller bubbly bits, which means it's harder wearing and takes more detail (it also makes slightly less mess).
It comes in 600mm x 1200mm x 50mm sheets so for AUD $20 you get a lot of foam.
I also used foamcore boards for the banisters and some folded cardboard for the steps.
As for construction I watched then adapted techniques from the Terrain Wench. She is on facebook and youtube.
(also the smaller pyramid was made out of the bits I cut out of the bigger pyramid to save on materials

I live behind a grocery store so I have a virtually unlimited supply of free foam. There is always a huge pile of assorted produce and meat cases so I take advantage of that.

I also scrounge pretty hard...

I made stairs too!

Mine are ugly as hell though ha-ha!

So I got my board mostly finished today...Still need to add vines and creepers and I have an idea for a multi-level fountain that I want to try out.
I also think I'm going to need a fat mat to go under it, maybe one of those new swamp ones! (I think it'll cost more than the terrain on top of it tho >_< )

Okay, got some painting done finally! Wife goes away for 4 days, perfect painting opportunity. Deathly sick for 3 days. Go figure.

Anyways here is a little update.

The Dark Elves you see in there aren't specifically for Mordheim but I didn't want to start ANOTHER plog! Ahahahahahaha

Totes start a third (fourth? [fifth? {sixth?}]) plog.
