Update...primed...started painting and realized I HATE the paint scheme I devised (it looked fine in my head). So Baharroth is going in the acetone tomorrow morning...for a restart. One evening wasted!

Here is my finished entry.

This month was more enjoyable than the last, so I am more happy with the outcome of my miniature.

In real life the blood looks more squishy and wet than on the picture, but I think I got a good look for the demonweapons.

Dang it, will definitely only finishing one dread, it’s taken longer than I thought, my edge highlighting is terrible and to top it off my fine detail brush keeps splitting on me

Fantastic job, queen_annes_revenge - that model looks exceptional. Great realism.
Sir Ollox, you've really done a great paintjob on a cool model - I'd love to have that guy in my own Khorne force. You're right, the axes are cool but I particularly like the demon faces on the torso and knee. Awesome.
My harlies still have a long way to go...I hate diamonds...

Thanks a lot Midget Gems! I always admire your work so the compliments are great! Loving the WIP can't wait to see the final.

That is mighty impressive!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
My planned entry didn't arrive, so instead I'm going with the backup, a little Big Stompy Robot in the form of Gerantius, the Forgotten Knight. Possibly not final pics as I'm not 100% sold on the finished product, but here we go anyway:

These Titanicus models really are lovely, it has to be said. Fit together perfectly, a decent enough size where detail isn't lost (I'll do some proper comparison shots with the ones not on plinth bases, but the Knights stand around Terminator size/bulk) and pretty reasonably priced, all things considered (the Warlord is beyond my budget/ability, but I can see myself picking up a Reaver or a Warhound at some point).

Any thoughts welcome! A bit of a rushed entry this month, but hopefully still fairly eyecatching.

Finally finished, was a rush and I broke one of the transfers, Also forgot the finish the assault cannon so it just looks sticks of dynamite but again not too bad for 20 year old stickers and water slides

A Protoss colony world

Well, since I'm going out of town later today I'd better go ahead and upload my final pics. So here they are, straight from the far eastern reaches of Middle Earth, my Easterling Kataphrakts:

I'm pretty happy with how they turned out, especially considering I did all the work in basically just two (long) evenings, and finished them up this morning. I absolutely love the look of the Easterlings as seen in The Two Towers, and it's tragic to me that we only see them in that one scene in the whole trilogy. GW did an amazing job coming up with additional models that still have that look even though we never saw them on screen. Truly some of my favorite models I've ever painted.

Anyways, I like what others have been posting recently, and I look forward to being able to see and vote on everyone's stuff!

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

OK, these guys were kinda fun. Those bases need to die in a fire, but the minis aren’t as goofy as I originally thought.

Some great entries coming in this month...
Love those guys Nev, I was tempted to paint those myself this month. I agree, I thought they were a bit goofy at first but they have grown on me over time.

This is my finished Harlequin Kill Team (minus two models that I am yet to finish). It sure was an experience painting these guys - I think it has really helped my fine detail skills. Those diamonds are a pain in the neck, though...It has been years since I played anything, so I am really looking forward to seeing these guys on the tabletop!

You'll need to zoom in on the group shots to get rid of the blur - my camera equipment is still in storage so they aren't fantastic...

Each Player is meant to be one of the characters that I rolled up from the Kill Team book.
From left to right; The Redtide, The Shadow, The Moon, The Witch and The Sun.

Here are my final pics. Griff Oberwald and The Mighty Zug of the Reikland Reavers.

For those who aren't familiar with Blood Bowl lore, these guys are the star players of the most succesful team in Blood Bowl history. They elevate the Reavers through, respectively, their scoring ability and sheer brutality, helping the team to championship after championship. Zug alone has inflicted over 200 serious injuries across his glittering career. I reckon they fit the description of elite troops.

I haven't touched my entry in over a week, but all I really have left is some shading and highlights, so I'm still in a position to be able to submit something tonight (or when I get home from work tomorrow, depending on pictures).

Just finished my piece. Have to wait for the texture to dry. Will take photos after work.

EDIT:

These are the Thunder Hammerers for my Death Company. They are true scale and converted from some damaged Stormcast Eternals that I bought off eBay along with Space Marine and AdMech bits.

Unfortunately, I was not able to matte spray these things in time (I usually let them sit for a few days just to be safe), so the metal looks more glossy than satin.
