Hey Madrobot was wondering if you have ever thought about doing some different torsos such heavy winter coats like the newer russian uniforms as well as doing a russian MVD helmets and also what about the us army patrol cap and us navy sailor caps. I just thought that they could be a good addition as well as something new to winterish unit types instead of just the usual trenchcoat.

I like the helmet cover. I bought a few heads a while back and they were great. The colonial defense helmets in particular are excellent, and I think the other pack I bought was some sort of wounded or vet pack. Other than one head having sort of light details (and it may have been I just didn't thin my paints enough) I was very happy and would absolutely buy more.
These helmets look like they would mix in well with others, since the cover would hide details that other helmets may have. I'm looking forward to seeing more previews!.

Maybe you should have a second look at torso proportions: Seems too short, not wide enough and lacking a neck IMHO.

Nope, proportions are fine, you may be getting fooled by the taller than normal neck on the flak vest
These parts are proportioned the same as all the other parts we sell every day

From what Steve has told us before, the renders have to have exaggerated proportions or the details suffer when it's actually 3d printed. I think it looks fine, and I've used a number of the head kits on space marine scouts and INQ28 models.

That's awesome! So glad to see the bare arms I was asking about and the Nam era flak jacket is something else I've been dying to see.
On the arms, any chance of a few different carry poses? I know that makes things more complicated but it would push this past awesome into flying rodent gak mental territory..

While I love being as contrary as the next guy, this is more honest feedback than a knee-jerk reaction for or against.
It may be a case of what looks good in 28mm needs to exaggerated, but going on the one bit of visual information I have on it, I think it looks weird.
Compared to another man-dollie (though in a less 28mm and less heroic proportions) I still think the vest is too high, reaching halways up his head, rather than just reaching the chin/back of the head.

I guess it's a good thing this is DaNam instead of Vietnam then..
I like the taller collar personally. I say that now but will possibly regret when I can't fit a helmeted head into the slot. I am already making plans to use the vest for other things as well that require a taller collar.. which I've been looking for..

And that's how I took it, all feedback is good feedback
Another thing to realize about that particular render is that the camera was at a downwards angle of about 40°. I believe the actual collar will wind up being a little bit shorter than you think.
Thanks for your comments!
@MLaw: I won't be able to do anything about new poses for this upcoming set, but I'm always open to ideas for some new arm poses.

Random ideas for a future point.
An extended arm with $5 bill in hand so we can build a DaNam troop tipping some ladies of leisure.
Hands for smoking troops cause who cares about lung cancer when you in DaNam? Hopefully to match helmets with a pack of lucky stripes tucked in a strap or rolled in a shirt sleeve. Could cut off the cigarettes to show troops swatting mosquitoes.
Bug spray somewhere on a belt or in hand.
A surf board.

If you could manage a bent arm that angles the gun towards the shoulder I would regard you as a higher lifeform. It strikes me as something that would fit this but be complicated because of different weapon profiles though.
EDIT Posting problem.. gimme a minute..
A hand cupped and down to hold a gun like so. a similar one bent at the elbow to hold the gun over the shoulder like the picture of RDJ's character in Paulson's post (if you do it right we could pose it holding the handle OR the front end of the rifle/gun/whatever. Maybe another that is down with a sling on it.. but no gun, just the mounting ring.. and we can attach whichever gun we like on it..
Hope that wasn't confusing..
EDIT: Oh.. non-gun ones.. maybe a radioman, or a hand holding a generic device that could be a detonator or radio depending on the positioning... waving or signaling would be another great one.. punching arms would be great for so many reasons (and some of them are kinda hilarious), if you do a left arm bent at a 90* angle with the hand open but palm down, it could be used for propping a weapon, a medic holding down a patient, a radio operator holding a radio unit in position, a soldier on liberty holding a pleasure woman (from Paulson's post) in position, combined with a punching arm for a really good fight scene, a tank gunner leaning onto the cupola.. lotta value in the 90* arm with the hand open (palm down).

As goofy as these suggestions are, it would be totally awesome to see it happen. Hell, I might even consider buying some just to have dudes waving money around. I would like to add however, that there needs to be at least one arm with a bottle of booze.

Better yet, a blindfolded POW head with the bottle of booze/wiskey in the off hand and cocked revolver to the right temple for roulette. Yeah it's dark and sick but it's DaNam and there's established movie precedence.
On a serious note arms & hands with beer bottles do have appeal for all sorts of models as they could also be used for fantasy models by just performing a hand transplant. Who wouldn't want to convert drunken fantasy dwarves, or put them on pirates? Its damn hard to find Long Drong's Slayer Pirates or suitable conversion models nowdays and Empire militia just don't have enough of drunken rabble look without bottles.

Well, on the pic, the head is as tall as the torso, vest or not. But could be of course a systematical error of the pic program.

Hm...
The arms waving money and making various gestures.. maybe do those as a hand sprue and we can chop and glue as necessary? That way we can put them on whatever arms we want? Oh, the possibilities.. it also makes it a bit easier for Steve to manage it onto a sprue and market it..
@Paulson - I'm still laughing at your response..

I was just looking at the custom squad creator, and couldn't find some of the options. Specifically the "Marine Utility Heads HH10" don't seem to be available as a head option, and nor do the kneeling Greatcoat legs. I figured the legs were a numbers mismatch thing, but are the heads deliberately left out?
