My Chaplain for my Red Scorpions Terminator Army. Plan to enter it in the Golden Demon this weekend in Chicago. I know it won't place, but I at least want to show it off. I based it on the Commander Culln Forge World model and cut the sword off and gave him the Crozius.

What do you guys think? Thoughts would be appreciated.

quite a nice model and very well painted but other then the weapon theres not a lot screams chaplain about him, the black scheme could easily be mistaken for a dark version of the normal scheme.
other then that though got no complaints about it! its a very nice model - intend getting one eventually

Nice paintjob. I quite like the model, although I find there's something weird in his position. It's as if he's thrusting his storm bolter forward or parrying a blow with his Crozius, but I feel he's not looking in the right direction.
But as I said, good paintjob nice highlights and shading.

I'm not really doing traditional colors. I hate the charcoal/mustard scheme, so I'm making mine... get this... RED! Vaguely remember seeing them actually being red in an old compilation or compendium, but I got rid of those books years ago.

Obviously not up to Golden Demon Standards. Mount him on a 2' x 2' x 2' block of wood with a little metal plaque and then he'll be a contender.........

I realize he stands no chance, as my room mate who paints better than me and showed me how to do all the rtricks entered stuff and it didn't even make first cut... Beseides, it's a play model, not a display piece.

all i would suggest is that you work on your blending/layering technique.
highlights catch the eye of judges.

The red on the other guys looks good also.

In the process of working on his A/C-chanfist totin' girlfriend. Ooops, said too much. Will post pics when she's done tomorrow.  She's going in the open catagory...

Just a few things:

The litanies on the purity seals are too thick, and the edges are too smooth. Thin, tiny scribbles look more like the real thing, especialy with very tiny gaps to help simulate words.

Consider black-lining the edges of the skorpions to help them stand out from the white. As it stands, they look flat.

The Crux symbol on the right kneepad has yellow on the top of it. Paint the gold over it, and black-line between the Crux and the sunburst. I don't know if yellow got on the sides, can't see from the pics.

Other than that, nicely done, certainly very good quallity for table-top.

Saw it at GamesDay. It looked like you black-lined it. It really looked a lot better.
