I just got the Pegasus Gothic building kit and I'm very impressed.

What is it?

Pegasus Hobbies makes a line of terrain and figures.

http://www.pegasushobbies.com/gm_main.htm

Their gothic building kit is $30 for a reusable sturdy plastic building kit.  It's clearly meant for 'gothic wargames' but is not so over the top, it can be used in most settings.

What do you get?

12 x 3" wall sections

6 x 6" wall sections

1x 3" door section (openable)

Gargoyles, torches, butresses and other decorations.

What does it look like?

How does it fit together?

Very, very well, the tower took just a minute or two to assemble and came apart easily.

What would make it better?

There's no roofs or floor, ladders and stairs are also missing.  Roofs and floors I can do with plasticard and I can always buy some ladders (or just assume they're there) but it is a bit of a bother.

Bottom Line

Cheap, easy to use, looks good.  9/10

Wierd, I just looked at Pegasus' site and there's no mention of it.

The warstore has it listed under Imex's stuff  but I don't see any mention of Imex on the box.

Who knows?

Anyway the Warstore has it for $24 and it's the warstore so you know you can trust them.

Looks pretty good Kyoto-san, how does it compare size wise to the new CoD buildings?  Does it come with plugs for all of those unsightly holes on the outer collumns? At $24 it is the same price as one of the CoD buildings, but looks much bigger, and of course it is flexible if you want repositionable terrain.

There are gargoyles and blank stones to cover the holes, that's something I was very impressed with. When I move in to my house I'll do a permanent assembly and show them off.

I don't have any CoD stuff but would say you get about twice as much, maybe more. IIRC the CoD stuff only lets you make 1 corner of a building while this lets you make a whole one. To use a good estimate you're getting 75 inches of wall, what do the CoD ones come with?

If you want ruins you'll have to carve it up yourself but that's no biggie.

Just to echo what KK was saying: I've gotten a set of it and pcerretti got three: it makes for a very nice cityfight board, and there's enough pieces to make plenty of ruins/complete buildings. 3 kits give you a pretty full 4x5 table. I built one three story building with my kit, and am getting two more to make ruins and other sundry pieces. They go together real easy (even easier than the IMEX stuff) and paint up nice as well. pceretti made removable roofs/floors with black foamcore and they look terrific.

The only thing to be aware of is that the floor distance is 4" (vs. GW's 3"), which does come into play for COD. We've just made the adjustments accordingly and it's been fine.

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

Thanks for the info guys.  Looks like I will be adding a box of this stuff to my next Warstore Order (unless it shows up at the FLGS)

Sorry for the 10-day resurect, but I ordered mine after I saw this review and I got it last night. The price is right and the pieces look good. It's cool that the pieces are meant to be taken apart and put back together like leggos, but I will probably just glue mine to bases. They also seem to work ok with the GW pieces. I'm pretty excited about trying some mix-and-match fit tests tonight and seeing what i come up with.

Thanks to Kid_Kyoto for the review!

I have a home now (yay) and after dropping $XX,XXX in one day this week buying 2 or 3 more pegasus kits doesn't seem too bad. I plan to mix and match them with platformer and refinery bits to make my city. I like the sturdyness of them a lot. I'll also be glueing mine.

The buildings look pretty good. Certainly good for the price. Thanks for the review.
