hello,

i'm wondering if the 4" tray is the right choice for Leman Russes?

how many will 1, 4" tray hold? based on the picture on the website

i was guessing(hoping!) maybe 3?

thanks.

I spoke with someone at bwbits.com and they told me that 4 russes would fit as long as they were positioned vertically. I'm not sure how exactly it would work, but that's all I've heard. I've only been able to get 2 into a three inch piece.

I use the trays for predators and I can only fit 2 preds with sponsons in a tray regardless of the thickness of the Sabol tray. I am sure that Russ's are similiar size.

most of my russes (5) don't have sponsons. so maybe that'll help.

thanks for the input.

With no sponsons, you could get 3 into one tray, with a foam seperation between each russ.

I don't see any way to fit 4 into one tray, unless you maybe placed them on their sides, which I wouldn't advise doing.

even without sponsons? i hadn't thought about trying that.

but if you say it's a bad idea, i wouldn't either.

I get six into two of the 2.5 inch trays. They are all vertical, and the rectangular holes are the same dimension to fit either a Leman Russ or chimera hull on end. All of my russes have sponsons, but they don't actually fit into the hole because they are only 2.5 inches deep. The turrets must be popped off of the russes and chimerae and the hellhounds fuel tanks bulge it out a little but they fit (I started making my fuel tanks removeable). My Basilisks all have removeable gun platforms too so they're not an issue. The second 2.5" tray is completely hollowed out and fits upside down over the other to create a flat surface for the next trays to rest on. It also creates a large void to put in the other odds and ends that never fit anywhere else like all of the turrets and tank accessories, ogryn, heavy weapons, etc.

Hopefully, I've described this well, but if I haven't I can try better or just send you a picture. Basically, the point is I can fit 6 tanks into a 5" deep space in my transport.
