OK, so Reaper has made the PERFECT figure for a young a vibrant Emperor.

Avatar Of Aurellius

40mm+ tall, and available here:

http://www.thewarstore.com/product9231.html

Filing off the damn lion head on his shoulder is annoying but the wings are seperate and he'l be out Emperoring in no time.

So in order to do my Emperor vs Horus game I now need a Horus.  I can use Abby but he's tiny next to this guy.

Anyone have a good evil overlord figure from any company who would make a suitable horus?

The Emperor was neither young nor vibrant by the team he and Horus were fighting.

Although it could be a nice looking Sanguinius.

Anyone know how tall this guy is?

And are the head and shield seperate?

I really don't think that mini was designed with the emperor in mind (and I really don't think it's a good substitute ), he's clearly ment to be Sangiunius! It's amazing how close they let themselves get to the HH card game artwork...

The Apocalypse figure: head and both arms are seperate. He's BIG, head and shoulder taller than the old metal terminators, almost as tall as a crisis suit (that's unmounted).

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

looks more like Sanguinius to me too. the Emporer should have a crown or a holy ring or something like that.
you could remove the right arm and keep it for Lion El' Jhonson miniature

Syr how would the reaper guy look with terminator lighting claws and maybe an Abby head?

Anung, I agree he'd be better as Sanny but I don't play blood angels. For the Space Emperor he'll get a backpack and a command squad eagle on the back.

I think what people are missing is that once you take of the wings, stick on an "iron halo", crown or whatever on his head (which isn't really necessary), and swap out his right arm with a clawed powerfist and viola! Kyoto will have his very own Space Emperor! of Mankind! Remember, he was in terminator armor when fighting Horus. This YTMND should get ya in the appropriate mood, while also showing ya the original illustration:

KK: Abby's head should be okay (his own head is a little small, so the GW-sized head should balance things out). Lightning claws would probably look fine, but you'll be hard-pressed to get a dynamic pose out of him beyond 'pointing' or 'give me a hug'. Nevertheless, on the right base, he might not need a dynamic pose, just a straight pimpin' "I can take you all out with my MIND" stare. Be aware that the armor is pretty primitive/fantasy looking, and not very terminator-armor-y at all. Could be corrected with paint, and if his entourage are made up of Chaos Warrior/marine conversions (i.e. from the new fantasy pieces) then it could look okay, but forewarned is forearmed or whatever.

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I prefer the colourd ilustrations from the artbook. Horus looked more evil and the Space Emporer ! of Mankind! looked more holy

I'll look for the guy in person next time I'm in a shop and I'm certainly open to other suggestions. Shame Chronopia and Warzone are OOP, I think they had some good guys for the conversion.

In any case I am trying the old Jess Goodwin picture (great site Nyar) so Horus can certainly be standing still looking mean.

Not much I can do to make these things into termi armor but in the end it will still ook right I think.

I did (thanks) but they don't hav everything. There were some of their big bad guys (Nephrites?) who might make a good horus but I didn't see any on their site.

cool now all they need to do are the rest of the primarchs. If Gw does not bother make them i dont see why other companies dont cash in on it. Obviously they cant sell it as sanguinuis. when they do
Russ they can call him the wollf and johnson the lion.

well, there was a model for Leman Russ once, but I really don't get why GW never tried to bring them back again. they could make them "collector editions" like the new Gortrek and Felix. and you could still use them in the game, since Primarchs ARE bigger

This is one of the warzone guys I was thinking of:

I even have one, unfortunately in a crate going to China.

And he's OOP.

But if I find another, the head and arms are separate, bury the head a little lower, replace the arms with L-claws and bolters on the back (keep the ammo feeds) and add EVEN MORE SPIKES AND SKULLS and I think I'd have myself a Horus.  He's tall too, about 40mm IIRC

Sigh.  Anyone know where I can get one?

the Reaper of the Apocalypse looks too Fantasy-ish to me.

and the Warzone guy is too shooty. chaos, to me, feel more

HtH. i do like the Warzone guy as a possible base to build from.

how big is the Warzone guy? if he's comparable in size that is.

The warzoner is about 40mm, along with the reaper guy. I ended up picking up Reapy McWar this weekend so I'll see how he turns out.

The Warzoner's arms are seperate so he'd work buy no luck on Ebay so I'll take what I can get.  I will try and de-fantasy him though.
