This is the Necron mobile firepower army, recalculated.

Hq- Necron lord w/ res orb and VoD:200pts

Troops- 2x 10 warriors:360pts

Fast attack- 3x 5 destroyers:750pts

Heavy support- 3x 3 heavy destroyers:585pts

Total points:1895

I would appreciate the feedback and sorry about the mis- calculation in my earlier post- Morgalblade

It would really help me re-typing my advice if you put updated lists in the original thread to continue the discussion.

Drop the heavy Destroyers. Use Immortals. More shots, more wounds, less points, good maths.

Now what the hell did we just say, Heavy destroyers= bad. Your phase out is 11 for god's sake at 1900 points. Drop the Heavies to 3 squads of 1 so they can atleast be easily hidden, turbo boost to objectives, and yo won't miss much firepower. Then get a squad of 8 Immortals, 10 warriors, and get a destroyer body for the lord. Hope this helps.

The best build for Necrons is to fit as many Warriors as possible into the list. Then take things that only support the Warriors or helps them get across the board faster (VoD, Res. Orbs, a Monolith ot two). There is no reason to ever take Heavy Destroyers. Destroyers, should be keept at a minimum.

Current Armies: Blood Angels, Imperial Guard (40k), Skorne, Retribution (Warmachine), Vampire Counts (Fantasy)

Drop the VoD give the Lord a Destroyer Body. He'll hang with Destroyers. I've play tested this army several times and it is quite viable. The shear volumne of gauss shots is incredible. The only concern is HTH. Destroyers are not good in HTH. In fact, I'm in the process of building just this army. I've already got the Destroyers and I'm starting to get the HDestroyers.

Yeah this is a viable list. I've faced a similiar list (with destoyer lord) and it was pretty brutal. Of course the mission and cityboard terrain helped my oppoent immensely.

I'd go with a combo of TGA's advice and TGtBtU417. Drop the heavy destoyers down to 3 x 1 and drop VoD for a destoyer body. You may also want to drop one destoyer from each squad but it isn't a neccesity (5 is better for 25% casualty tests but 4 is more efficient for VPs). Now beef up the warriors and/or add another lord (res orb, walking or destoyer). Immortals are also an option if you really want to keep the VoD lord.

This kind of list lives and dies on terrain. If your local environment is terrain light then this list will suck. Otherwise I think you'll do fine.

Iorek: "Snoogums, you're right. Your arguments are irrelevant, and they sure as heck aren't going away."
