No, the drop pod design is quite lovely, it's the execution of it into a kit that sucks!

I think I'll be scratchbuilding my own...
Some pointers on resin: Do make sure that prior to assembly you throroughly scrub all pieces with a mild abrasive soap, as resin mold release not only interferes with paint, but will also prevent superglue from properly bonding. For mild abrasive soaps, you can use a thin paste made with Ajax/Comet or another mild powdered soap, or use a concentrated dish soap (like Palmolive or some other strong soap). Scrub first with an old tooth brush and then go at it with an old veggie brush (which has stiffer bristles), and then rinsed and set aside to dry. Do make sure you only use lukewarm water, heat softens it up!
For warped bits, you'll want to use some hot water to warm up and soften the resin so that you can straighten the peice out using wooden tongs (or similar).
Resin is a pain in the kiester to work with, especially if you're new at it. Make sure at all times you wear a respirator rated for fine particulates (resin dust is terrible, terrible on one's lungs) as well as safety glasses. Enjoy and happy mangling!
