Has anyone found a way to make the pods out of a material that will look right and allow for some customization. I have seen some made of metal, resin and plastic bits. Saw one very nice one at a Games Day in Atlanta that was bass wood and just slipped together. No glue. I have got get something better than my cups and don't want to go the Forge World route. Suggestions? Warrior 50

I followed this to build my pods. At $6.50 a pod after tax, it works out great and looks nice too once you paint them up. http://www.minivault.com/ModelingDropPods.htm

The round spindles for blank CDs work OK (50 - 100 count). They're transparent, for one, so you can tape off windows before priming. Glue sticks to it easily. Dreads fit nicely in them if you saw off the spindle. The top goes on/off, and they're easy to get. Not as heavy-duty as PVC pipe, but pretty versatile.

Large cheese wheels, preferably Limburger. You can cut out wedges to be doors and turn them on thier sides to be ramps.
Doesn't this belong in modelling?

I'd use the boxes that the models come in. You already know that it can transport the unit...

Are these the pods you saw made from Balsa that slipped together? They are manufactured by an Australian company, CNC Workshop: Miniature Scenery. It sells for $22.00 Australian/$60.00 Australian for 3 Landers. The War Store sells them for $20.99 US.

No, but this is close. The one's I saw did not have the pointy curves at the top and the wings were just a bit smaller. I do think I saw this one one a web page for a store I use up in New York however. Warrior 50
